The GRM-260 is designed for field K , U , Th assays of rocks ( calibrated in %K , ppm eU , ppm e Th ) and for measurement of dose rate values ( calibrated in nGy/h or U equiv ) coming either from natural or artificial radioisotopes in a wide range of gamma-energies . The integrated , waterproof handheld GRM-260 unit keeps most of the significant features of the bugger geophysical gamma-ray spectrometer GRS-.2000 being suitable for use in geological , geophysical and environmental survey ,l industrial radioactivity monitoring and customs checking . Both the measured spectrum and the concentration values (as well as the prompts for easy operation ) are shown on the backlight screen. The tables of results can be stored in the internal memory of the instrument for next processing like profile measurement and mapping . The GRM-260 can be alternatively operated from a user’s PC. This possibility allows comfortable operation in field or in the laboratory , 256 channels registration of measured spectra and their sophisticated methos of mathematic analysis . Thus the K , U , Th assays come more precise and the data storing capability loses limitation . |
